Best Things to Do Before or After Sauna in Sydhavnen

sydhavnencopenhagenlocal guide

A 75-minute sauna session is worth the trip on its own. But Sydhavnen — the South Harbour — has more to offer if you want to make an evening of it. Here are some ideas for before and after your visit.

Before your session

Walk along the harbour

Arrive 30 to 45 minutes early and walk along the waterfront. The harbour promenade stretches from Teglholmen to Sluseholmen and beyond. The light in the evening — especially in summer — is worth the detour. It is quieter than most of Copenhagen's waterfront.

Coffee at Urban Camp

Urban Camp is right next to Turban Sauna. Grab a coffee and sit outside. It is a relaxed, no-frills spot — camping ground meets neighbourhood café. A good way to ease into the evening before your saunagus session.

After your session

Dinner in the neighbourhood

After 75 minutes of heat and cold, you will be hungry. Sydhavnen has a growing food scene — from neighbourhood cafés to quick bites along Sydhavnsgade. The area around Sluseholmen and Teglholmen has several restaurants worth exploring.

Bike ride back through the city

Sydhavnen is about 15 minutes by bike from the city centre. After a sauna session, the ride back through Copenhagen in the evening air is one of the best feelings. If you do not have a bike, the area is well served by bus.

Getting to Turban Sauna

Turban Sauna is at Vasbygade 18, 2450 København SV. The nearest S-train station is Sjælør (10-minute walk). By bike from the city centre: 15 minutes. Bus routes serve Sydhavnsgade. There is space for bike parking at the venue.
